MetaTaxonomy Inc.(“we”, “us”) respects the intellectual property of others and expects our users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”).
Reporting alleged infringement
If you believe content on MetaTaxonomy infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (e.g., the URL and, where relevant, the specific post, contribution, or node).
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone, email).
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

What we do
On receipt of a valid notice, we will expeditiously remove or disable access to the material and make a reasonable effort to notify the person who posted it. We may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
Counter-notice
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the designated agent containing: your signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and phone; and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which MetaTaxonomy Inc.may be found) and agreeing to accept service of process from the complaining party. We may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the complaining party files a court action.
Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), knowingly materially misrepresenting that material is infringing (or was removed by mistake) may expose you to liability for damages.
